Dodd Ferrelle transitions from Sonic Americana to Indie Pop to straight up country on last year’s “Lonely Parades”. After years on the road with the Tinfoil Stars, Dodd went solo with his 2009 offering and is currently finishing up what will be his second and third solo studio records in a span of 2 years. The pop/rock album “Hide the World” will be released early 2011 and the more acoustic album “Sucker Punch Town” will be released shortly thereafter. His band features Noel and David Blackmon, Jon Mills, David Vanwyk, Tim Adams and Brad Fowler. http://www.doddferrelle.com/
"Ferrelle captures a familiar American rock sound yet manages to convey the mood of the times. His guitar playing is admirable, his talent obvious and as distinctive as his voice." - David Harry, AMERICANA UK
"Ferrelle and his band are the most promising roots-based rock act from the Athens area since the Drive By Truckers." Greg Nicoll, CREATIVE LOAFING
"Weaned on the Beatles, the Replacements and the Waterboys, Athens' Dodd Ferrelle may not yet have the resume of his musical heroes, but he has the passion and talent to make even the most accomplished musician take notice." Alex Green, AMPLIFIER MAGAZINE
Lyrics
Oh, to get a seat on the next airplane Flyin' high out of this world Make my ticket and then call me at the gate Flyin' high out of this world
doo doo doo
You control me You bought and sold me doo doo doo For that feeling you had me stealing
Buried treasure layin' underneath your feet Pick it up and you may die It makes no difference that their words they never keep It's all deceit no reasoned life
doo doo doo
You control it You bought and sold it doo doo doo For that feeling you had 'em stealin'
Secret agents make their way now to your door They're on the take they need the score Soul confusion rises up in thunderstorms So run for cover you've been warned
doo doo doo
You control it You bought and sold it doo doo doo For that feeling you've got 'em stealin'
Pay the devil for a lifetime of bad debt Pray for grace and leave regret Control is in the heart of every man Resolve redeems your head
doo doo doo
You control me You bought and sold me doo doo doo For that feeling you had me stealing
doo doo doo
You control it You bought and sold it For that feeling you've got 'em stealing
